While wandering through a dark phase I realized that most of the time I wasn't really present. My monkey mind made me almost crazy and I felt weaker and weaker ... I felt far away from home ...

I had enough of suffering - I needed a break
There was no right or wrong - no big mistake
It took me a hard lesson - to take my next step
Now I feel like a schoolgirl and my soul's like a wreck

You're in my system, in my heart and in my veins
And all the wisdom of this world can't take away these pains
I know it's just my mind who's playing tricks with me
It holds me back – but I want to be free …

Sometimes we're far away from home …

I wrote a letter to myself - brought down the words that I could never to tell
Can't blow away these clouds- they dig around my mind
I feel like picking pieces of an old broken shell
Can’t escape from grief - that kicks me over the line

My mind is a joker, a demon, an Iktomi
With an open heart – I so much better see
I am the ocean - every thought's just a wave
They come and they go - I'm not their slave

Sometimes I'm far away from home …

Wanna find a little bliss- in my ordinary daily life
It's hard to see a rainbow- in the middle of the night
Sometimes I'm up or down – maybe in between
Sometimes I see a red light- even if it is green

I know these days when I walk through the valley of tears
There are memories of precious moments and of loving years
We're all looking for someone who shares some time along our way
Don't think it's easier to leave than it is to stay
